About Our Watches

At 1776 Atelier, many collections are crafted in very limited quantities that individually numbered to ensure high exclusivity. While other collections will remain long-term staples of our brand. Though they may not be specifically limited to a specific production quantity, all our timepieces are individually finished by hand by our craftsmen in Texas. This guarantees exclusivity as we will always remain a low volume semi-bespoke independent watchmaker. This approach underscores our commitment to creating distinctive, high-caliber items for our discerning customers.

At 1776 Atelier, we take pride in hand-finishing, manufacturing, building and assembling our products right here in the USA. The vast majority of the content in our watches are hand-made right here in the United States. This includes an American-designed, American-machined movement that is hand-built, hand-finished, and hand-assembled by classically-trained American watchmakers.  Though the majority of our watch components are “made in the USA”, we also source components globally when necessary to ensure the highest quality for our customers.  This approach allows us to offer exceptional watches while supporting our commitment to both American craftsmanship and global horological excellence. Make no mistake that we take pride in our commitment to revive American watchmaking excellence.

Our cases at 1776 Atelier are rated for 5 ATM water resistance, equivalent to 50 meters. While this rating supports mild exposure to water, such as hand washing and brief encounters with rain, we do not recommend or warrant use in water sports or for prolonged submersion. Additionally, our straps are crafted from various types of leather and should generally be kept dry to maintain their quality and appearance. This approach ensures your timepiece and its components remain in excellent condition under everyday conditions.

Our new collections have reached their final design stages and are now in manufacturing. We’re dedicating this time to meticulous research and development to ensure the highest quality and attention to detail. We  are making every effort to launch in December 2024,.  To be the first to receive updates and exclusive news, please subscribe to our mailing list.

At 1776 Atelier, our mission is to take part in the revival of the esteemed tradition of the watchmaking in the United States by emphasizing meticulous hand-finishing techniques that have long been the hallmark of high horology. While we acknowlege the presence of a select few exceptional American watchmakers, we are committed to making this level of craftsmanship more accessible. Our approach ensures that the artistry and precision of traditional watchmaking are more accessible to every-day collectors and enthusiasts.  Our approach ensures that the artistry of traditional watchmaking becomes more available to a broader audience, offering hand-finished timepieces that embody both excellence and attainability.

Post purchase Care and Warranties

At 1776 Atelier, we are dedicated to crafting exceptional timepieces with the utmost attention to detail and quality. To ensure your investment is well-protected, we offer a 2-year warranty on most of our collections, affirming our commitment to excellence. However, for certain collections that feature antique movements, we provide a 1-year warranty. This coverage excludes normal wear and tear or misuse, but it guarantees that your watch remains safeguarded and continues to reflect our high standards of craftsmanship.

To ensure the longevity and beauty of our handcrafted straps, it is essential to avoid water exposure whenever possible. While our straps are designed to last for many years, prolonged exposure to moisture, humidity, and perspiration can degrade the leather over time. We recommend avoiding chemical cleaners, as they can damage the leather. Instead, if cleaning becomes necessary, use a mild soap with a small amount of water and gently wipe the strap. Proper care will help maintain the quality and appearance of your strap for years to come

To maintain the accuracy and longevity of your watch, it’s best to keep it away from magnetic fields. While most modern wristwatches have some resistance to magnetism, nearly all watches can still be affected by strong magnetic fields. Exposure to devices like speakers or other electronics that generate magnetic fields can impact your watch’s accuracy. If you suspect your watch has become magnetized, please contact 1776 Atelier for service, and we will be happy to assist with demagnetizing and restoring its precision.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your mechanical watch, it’s best to wind it gently to avoid damaging components within the movement. We recommend handing it with care to prevent any shocks or drops that could affect its precision. These practices will help maintain the exceptional performance, accuracy and longevity of your timepiece.

Although our watches are meticulously hand-assembled, finished, adjusted, and regulated to ensure they leave our workshop in perfect condition, it’s important to remember that all mechanical timepieces should be serviced every 3-5 years. Regular servicing, which includes inspection, lubrication, and replacement of worn parts, helps maintain optimal performance and longevity over time.

If you believe your watch requires warranty service, please reach out to our customer service team at customerservice@1776atelier.com. Our team will work closely with you to understand the issue and coordinate any necessary warranty service to ensure your watch is promptly and effectively addressed.

At 1776 Atelier, each watch is built semi-bespoke, tailored to the specifications of our customers. This includes individual components that are crafted and finished with meticulous attention to detail, often featuring custom plating, hand engraving, or other personalized elements.

Because of this unique process, we are unable to offer a return policy. Each watch is a labor of love, crafted specifically for its owner, and the materials are procured and finished as part of this commitment to exceptional craftsmanship.

That said, we stand firmly behind the quality and craftsmanship of our timepieces. If you experience any concerns or issues with your purchase, our team will work closely with you to ensure your satisfaction and address any questions.

As an independent watchmaker, we deeply value the trust our collectors place in us and take pride in delivering a product of enduring beauty and reliability.

To ensure continued warranty coverage, all 1776 Atelier timepieces must be serviced by 1776 Atelier or an authorized repair center during the warranty period. For ongoing maintenance and servicing beyond the warranty period, we recommend using our in-house service center or one of our authorized service centers. These facilities have access to genuine parts and are well-versed in our movements, ensuring that your timepiece receives the expert care it deserves.
