Refinement Without Compromise
The Liberty 250 is built upon a movement whose main plate, bridges, wheels, screws, and hands are manufactured in-house before undergoing hundreds of hours of traditional hand finishing. Every decorative technique serves a purpose, from hand-applied anglage and Côtes de Genève to circular graining, solarization, black polishing, and thermally colored screws.
Throughout the movement are 222 internal angles. This is one of the clearest expressions of traditional haute horlogerie. Unlike straight bevels, each inward corner must be formed entirely by hand, as no cutting tool or CNC machine can produce a sharp internal angle. Their presence is a testament not only to the complexity of the movement, but to the patience, skill, and countless hours required to finish it to the highest standard.
Encasing the movement is a solid 18-karat rose gold case created exclusively for the Liberty 250. Limited to just 25 pieces worldwide, it represents the highest expression of craftsmanship ever produced by 1776 Atelier.

The Art of Mechanical Harmony
The Liberty 250 represents the continued evolution of our pursuit of traditional haute horlogerie. While preserving the movement’s balanced architecture, nearly every visible surface has been refined to achieve a greater level of finishing and visual depth. The three-quarter bridge alone incorporates fourteen additional hand-finished internal angles, contributing to a total of 222 hand-finished internal angles throughout the watch, including both the movement and dial.
Its bridges feature raised Côtes de Genève bordered by recessed, frosted channels before transitioning into hand-polished anglage. This layered construction demands exceptional precision, requiring three distinct finishing techniques to meet with perfectly defined separation. The result is a movement with remarkable depth, contrast, and complexity that reveals new details as light moves across its surfaces.
Every movement screw is now manufactured in-house before its head is individually chamfered, black polished, and thermally colored to a rich plum. The ratchet wheel, crown wheel, barrel cover, and other visible components receive solarized finishes, while circular graining and hand-applied decoration continue throughout the movement. Every visible component has been treated as an opportunity for craftsmanship rather than merely function.
The reverse of the watch bears the Liberty 250 designation together with the words “We the People,” engraved as a tribute to the ideals that shaped the founding of the United States. Created to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Liberty 250 honors the enduring principles of liberty, craftsmanship, and self-determination that continue to inspire our work.
The Sculpture of Precision
The Liberty 250’s case is sculpted from solid 18-karat 5N rose gold, measuring 41 millimeters in diameter and only 10.2 millimeters in height. The concave bezel flows seamlessly into chamfered lugs, creating a continuous, fluid silhouette, while the spiral-fluted crown echoes the geometry of the movement within. Every contour is designed to frame the movement without distracting from it.
The movement is finished in a deep black rhodium, creating a dramatic backdrop for the warm tones of the rose gold case and balance bridge. Against this dark, anthracite-like finish, the handcrafted two-piece plum-colored steel hands provide a striking focal point, their rich hue achieved through traditional thermal coloring. The contrast of black rhodium, rose gold, and plum steel creates exceptional visual depth, allowing each finish to complement the others while revealing new layers of detail as the light changes.
Each pair of hands is manufactured, shaped, beveled, polished, assembled, and thermally colored entirely in-house using traditional hand tools. Together with the dial’s 62 hand-finished internal angles, frosted recessed surfaces, and black rhodium finish, they create a composition that is both technically demanding and visually harmonious—a balance of color, texture, and craftsmanship that defines the Liberty 250.
A Keeper of History
Each Liberty 250 is presented in a handcrafted American walnut presentation box, created one at a time by a master artisan in Arizona. Nestled within the lid is a genuine fragment of timber from Independence Hall, preserved inside a Liberty Bell-shaped inlay.
This is not a reproduction or a symbolic tribute. It is wood that was once part of the very building where the Declaration of Independence was debated and adopted, bearing silent witness to the birth of a nation. More than two centuries later, that same history becomes part of every Liberty 250.
The presentation box is more than a place to house a watch. It is a continuation of its story, uniting American craftsmanship with an irreplaceable piece of the nation’s past.
